Are You Passionate About Changing Lives?

Things have been busy and a bit hectic these days, as you can probably tell from our poor neglected blog. It has become very apparent (well much more apparent) these past few weeks that we NEED more help!

Every month {THCP} seems to grow just a little more. So naturally adding a few extra hands to the mix is vital for our success. If you are interested in working behind the scenes please click here.

The next few months are going to be busy busy around here for us.  On top of expanding our apparel, bettering our programs and organizing and planning upcoming events/fundraisers. One of our star team members will be moving to Thailand long term and will be over seeing our {PROJECT}: Thailand (we will be announcing more on this a bit later). That will be a HUGE adjustment for us and of course will leave us one man (well lady) down.

So if you think you have what it takes, let us know.

Don’t forget to join us April.4/2012

30 people IN 30 days

We NEED your help and your support. The {Heart} Change Project girls have set out to find 30 caring and loving individuals to make a impact to the life’s of a group of young helpless street boys. We are in searching for 30 people to donate $10 a month for 1 year. 100% of your $10 gift will ensure all of these young boys will recieve daily meals. Something many children in Haiti go without. Even though Haiti and these boys are a world a way, their pain and suffering is very real. We ask that you help give these boys a fighting chance to rise above poverty and to make our world a more loving and compassionate place. This is possible.
Please contact us with any questions you may have.

xoxo

SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT 2012!

WOW! What a year 2011 was, we are so grateful for all the {Heart} Change love and support that we received. So much was accomplished and so many lives have been forever changed.  We made so many wonderful friends and have a ton of great memories.

With that being said we have no doubts that 2012 won’t fail to deliver. We are already so lucky. We have a new (much needed) team member. New partnerships developing, Our Haiti program is getting better and better every month. But even with all this growth we felt something missing, something just wasn’t feeling quite right. So we called a meeting to get back on track, this is what we came up with in a nut shell.

We started The {Heart} Change Project to change hearts, to inspire you to live your life with purpose and give hope where hope is needed. We want to help and inspire you to start your own projects, whether that is promoting children’s cancer to saving the rain forest. BIG or small, whatever is important to you, we want you to do something that matters. We want to remain true to this and start a movement of inspiring individuals committed to change. So in keeping with this movement we are in the process of starting and establishing a bi-weekly or monthly group. We get asked a lot “How do I go about doing something like this?”, “How can I really make a difference?”  We will announce more details on this soon, but we are so excited to provide this help for you and link you with like minded people in the process.

Once again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all your love and support, for all your patience and understanding. We are GRATEFUL! We have so much in the works this year that it is so exciting to see what the next months have in store for us.

Just to update you all on a few things

- We are developing a buying program and we are so SO SOOOO excited about it. Its in its very early stages but we are so thrilled about this and can not wait to update you on what this program is all about and how is benefits Haiti. This is Ronnie, a sweet 15 year old who like so many children needs a little help. Stay tuned to hear more about how Ronnie fits into this program!

We LOVE REBUILD Globally, They are like family to us and we talk daily with them. We have made so much progress with 13 of the street boys. But these boys are forever coming out of the wood works. We look forward to developing the street boy program further with them and giving hope to these new boys just as we were able to together with 13 others.

Lastly, We really needed another helping hand over here at {Heart} Change. We are so excited to have a new member with fresh new ideas. She is a gem and we think she fits right in! We will have Amanda to do up a little BIO. We promise you will love her just as much as we do.

Guest Blog Post #2 {Sandra}

Life in Haiti is so unpredictable, it can be so difficult, frustrating and exhausting – but so rewarding at the same time. This is what keeps honest humanitarian workers here; this is what keeps me here.  A few weeks ago my computer and camera were stolen from my room. A harsh blow because not only was all my personal information lost: photos, video footage that I depend on to do my video blogs for REBUILD, everything I wrote as an undergrad at NYU, but I also had to deal with the complete and total violation of privacy.

The generosity of people has really kept my spirits up. Immediately, there was an outpouring of people wanting to help and sending their good graces. I want to thank a few of them: Mike Jones, Jim Hobart, Elaine, Erika Wiggins and Mimi Flatley.

When something so valuable gets lost, then it really makes you appreciate even more the things you find…I was creating a video blog where one of our street boys, Boot, made a rap about what Julie and school meant to him. This was completely impromptu and I was fortunate enough to catch it on video that is now lost. However, I found a written translation and it put a smile to my face:

“If Julie’s with us we don’t have any problems.

Since we know we are the boys on the streets,

we know we are the men on the streets for life.

We learn at school to teach other children

We grow up,

Motherless,

Fatherless.

To teach children who don’t have parents.

We grow up.

Listen, Julie’s with me.

She’s my sister.

She’s my mother.

She pays school for me.

She’s helped me on the street because I am helpless…

Yeah, yeah.”

I wish I could convey the emotion on the face of this 13 year old, street boy amputee. Yes, the footage is gone, but at least his words were not.
